Mayor Takes Over Day-to-Day Operations

City residents may have been startled by the news that Mayor Sharon Robinson-Briggs has named herself acting city administrator, but the city's special charter allows for such action under Article III, Section 3.7, "Emergencies."

The 90-day term of Corporation Counsel Dan Williamson as acting city administrator expired today. Williamson had recently voiced the expectation that former City Administrator Bibi Taylor would soon be returning from maternity leave, but instead she took a position in the Union County administration.

As quoted by reporter Mark Spivey, the mayor expresses hopes that her tenure in the acting role will be brief, as there are candidates to be interviewed.

  3. Bernice: I'm in Ireland. The weather's better here than it is in Plainfield, but nothing anywhere in the world matches the Queen City for absurdity. You can't make this stuff up.

  4. Soooooooooooooooooooooooooo who is she gonna blame???
I mean I guess the all the citizens of Plainfield who voted for her could start volunteering to take the tblame for her. Or maybe her Cheerleading 3 could volunteer bi-weekly to take the blame for the stuff that goes wrong all the time. Reid, Rivers, Greaves??? Do the Mayor a solid and volunteer to be her blame game instead of just her lap dogs, ok?
So in the role of acting ( no doubt, what the hell, she's been trying to act like a Mayor now for quite sometime ) do you think she'll be stupid enough to say, "I'll have to check with the Mayor on that." I bet she slips up at some point and says it.

  7. Where can we find her resume and credentials? So, if we hire someone to the office, they need credentials, if we elect a mayor with a high school diploma, they can become the City Administrator?
