So here is what Jerry wrote in reaction to my blog post:
"On another note, I’ve worked with the Hispanic community and the Mayor to put together a coalition. And I find it very embarrassing for Bernice to make a claim that the Mayor put someone on the committee that does not reside in Plainfield; this is not true. Nevertheless, this is business as usual with Bernice; she is being negative and misleading the public with her inaccurate information that she is posting on her blog. Mrs. Salavarrieta is not a member of the committee. The Mayor just asked her if she would be involved due to her experience in dealing with similar issues. Mr. Ortega agreed that she would be a great asset. Bernice, it is time that you get your information correct. Let’s learn how to be a part of the solution and stop feeding the problem. This initiative did not start yesterday. Some members of this committee, as well as, people from the community have been working for a while in addressing issues that face the Hispanic community in Plainfield."
Jerry, it is time that you get your information correct.
It was Dan Damon, not me, who pointed out the non-residency of Carmen Salavarrieta. I know all us Caucasians look alike, even on the interwebs, but pleeze my man, check the facts. Click here to see what Dan wrote.

ReplyDeleteGreen continues to lie and attack and still Rashid says nothing and he knows the truth. He is losing this election because we now see him for the Jerry puppet that he is. People who used to support him are now saying they won't support him based on Green's lies and his silence. No transparency there for either one of them. How is Rashid gonna look people in the eye after the election, win or lose.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if it has occurred but is Jerry man enough to apologize? It would show a little bit of character if there is a bit of moral strength. Or is it, "throw it against the wall and hope it sticks?"

ReplyDeleteWith so much technology and so much to follow, I would not be so overly dramatic about this confusion. However, I would caution and concern about the claims being made about the non-residency and why.
ReplyDeleteYou see, in the political world, it seems to pay to be overly dramatic and to create situations to encourage it. In one single post and without checking the facts, Dan said that I did not co write the ordinance, he said Carmen Salavarrieta was appointed and other facts which he clearly knows are not truth and could have verified an corrected by giving any of us a phone call or simply reading the Courier news article. At the same time, we know he knew the facts, he can read. So why the misinformation? That should be the real concern.
Bernice, I read your blog every day and have done it for a while- please keep objectivity and don’t let partisan dislikes and overly dramatic situations filter to your pen. The assemblyman may have made booboo- he did not make outlandish and untruthful claims.
Bernice, sometimes you and Dan Damon do sound alike even if you don't look alike. I miss your spin-free reporting.

Per Norman's comment... How come Jerry and Sharon make Boo-Boo's yet anyone who doesn't run and plant their lips firmly on their butts is negative and naysayers..??? If Jerry and Sharon acted with the integrity their positions require and had an ounce of self respect they would go out of their way to NOT continually do the things that has the public disgusted with their behavior. Instead, like school yard bullies they throw out unsubstantiated comments and accusations and then get a free pass from people like you when they are called out on it. My kids made boo-boos...If Jerry and Sharon would like to be treated like kids, they are definitely acting the proper way.
