Another young person has been lost to gun violence.
Once again the Union County Homicide Task Force has been called on to piece together the elements that led to this brazen, fatal assault.
Condolences to the family and also to all those who have recently banded together to look for ways to prevent such losses. There is still much work to be done.

Omce more, use spellchecker
ReplyDeleteFrom Siddeeq to Anon 5:09: Check your own spelling.
ReplyDeleteThere is not way a gun shot detection system would have helped here. We need adults, parents, and the City to get involved and help keep these kids out of gangs. Kids join gangs in part because they are looking for the family support from the gang that they are not getting from home. When will we learn.
ReplyDeleteSiddeqq - He was just spelling Omce (Once) the same way Bernice did.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if Blogs have spellchecker built it but a good idea is to do you post in Word and run spell checker and then cut and paste it into the Blog post.
To 10:39 p.m.: You are correct, the best way to avoid errors is to use Word and then cut and paste. I try to do that most of the time. I looked at the post in question and actually did not see any errors until you pointed out the problem. While it is not an excuse, I had been up all night with stomach pains after one of our stressful household dislocations and just posted in a hurry into Blogger.
ReplyDeleteBernice your service to the community has given you the leeway to have an occasional typo every once in a while. The gravity of your post, a Plainfield student dead IS the issue, not your spelling.
ReplyDeleteReducing the density of some of Plainfield's housing projects and incorporating onsite services like mentoring programs, career and small business development resources can make a difference. The APA illuminates and studies the psychology of poverty and shows how changing the economic opportunities in a community can impact crime and violent crime in
particular.
