March is here and it brings a full schedule of meetings.
The City Council will hold its agenda-fixing session at 7:30 p.m. on March 5 in City Hall Library, at which time maybe we will hear about the status of the 2012 budget process. The regular meeting is 8 p.m. March 12 in Municipal Court.
On March 19, the PMUA Task Force is scheduled to present its findings. Click the link for details on its formation and charge. It was established in May 2011 and given an extension of the original four months for an investigation. As reported by Plaintalker, PMUA commissioners agreed in a split vote in January to give former executives David Ervin and Eric Watson lucrative settlements The controversy continues.
The PMUA's regular meeting this month is 6 p.m. March 13 at 127 Roosevelt Avenue. Meanwhile, PMUA Commissioner Rev. Tracey Brown has announced her candidacy for the Citywide at-large City Council seat, with Council President Adrian Mapp as running mate for re-election to the Third Ward seat. Look for other announcements this month as challengers put together slates. The filing date for the June primary is April 2.
The school board is opening the month with two special executive session meetings this week. The work and study meeting will be 8 p.m. March 6 in the Plainfield High School Conference Room and the business meeting will be 8 p.m. March 20 in the Plainfield High School Auditorium. Maybe this month will bring news of a decision on new superintendent.
Add Planning Board meetings on March 1 and 15 and a Board of Adjustment meeting on March 7 and you see it will be a busy month for keeping an eye on Plainfield.

ReplyDeleteI agree with 6:13am. Tracy is being paid to be on the commission. For such an important vote, she should have been present.
ReplyDeleteMy take is that she did not want to have the vote taint her chances to run for Council at Large. I think she is a coward.
How do we know she was not absent due to illness or some other reason for an excused absence? Please be careful with the epithets.
DeleteEven if Tracy Brown was sick, when she had the opportunity to vote AGAINST the settlement last month she abstained. Yes, that's right she abstained. She is no better than the rest (Check the minutes on PMUA's website). All men and women are evil and only interested in their gain at their core. And now we find out that Adrian Mapp is her running mate. No wonder why he doesn't want to do anything about his precious PMUA. We have too many two faced individuals in this city.
DeleteEven if Tracy was ill, she could have conference in by phone for a couple of hours. No excuse to miss such an important vote. The Reverend is very good at teaching/preaching the word, but politics, not so much! Trace and Adrian as a ticket, what a joke! We keep going from bad to worst. Heaven help this city!
