I love the many different kinds of people, the many different kinds of food, the train station, the churches and meeting houses and mosque and more religious homes, the students who strive to be great, and more.
Plainfield has so much right with it, but it sometimes gets lost.
I enjoy the diversity here -- in people, religions, even restaurants. I like the proximity to Manhattan. I like the fact that Plainfield is doable with public transportation for my work commute as well as personal travel. I love the train station and its very photogenic lamps. I love the library. Heck, I even love the local bloggers. I like the police officers I've met in my travels.
I realize the city definitely has its problems. But, in the ten years I've lived here, folks have been friendly and I've never had any real problems.
This city is an indiscoverred jewel. The fact that it continues to shine, even though it has had inattentive owners is a testament to its survival. Let's hope that it will not survive any longer, but rather grow and thrive.
I have been reporting on Plainfield for more than 30 years, first at the Plainfield Today weekly, then at the Courier News and after retirement on the Plainfield Plaintalker blog and its successor, Plaintalker II.

Everything! Despite the problems, it's a good city.

Gotta love this one! Frankly, I don't care what ward you are from, we are one people - let's work together to make things happen!
