CBS Radio explains that there will be 20-minute delays on the Raritan Valley Line "due to police activity in Plainfield."
Well, that explains the hovering helicopters that showed up at 6 a.m. The rest of the story remains to be told. I am not inclined to stroll over in the dark to the main train station. Be careful, Jackie, if you are out there.

Heard the helicopters at six or five thirty. Man hit by train. Understand the man is in surgery. Why so many helicopters were out there, I have no idea; had to be at least four.
ReplyDeleteNews helicopters hovering - husband saw it on Channel 4.
ReplyDeleteWhen I went to the station this morning for my commute, there were six new helicopters. It must have been a slow news morning in NYC. I got to work an hour and a half late. This is the second time on the Raritan Valley Line in four days. From where they were on the tracks, the train couldn't have been going really fast. Apparently the hit was just past Watchung Avenue. The train had been pulling away from the station after picking up passengers. It was probably going less than ten miles an hour.
ReplyDeleteI can't keep telling my boss I'll be a few hours late every four days ...
