Late Summer at Shakespeare Garden

My neighbor wanted to visit the Shakespeare Garden Wednesday to see the improvements, so we took a ride over to Cedar Brook Park. The new pergola has honeysuckle planted and trained to climb over it, replacing the inauthentic Trumpet Vine. All the flowers in the garden are supposed to mentioned in Shakespeare's works and that vine was not.

The late summer garden was a bit scruffy with aggressive weeds challenging the resident plants in the borders and beds. Below is a glimpse of the garden.

  1. While we all know how much you despise Jerry, there is some truth in what he said today. Let me give you an example:

Storch's family got his daughter on the board of the YWCA. Cory got appointed on the YWCA financial committee - the committee that was appointed to figure out what to do with the Catherine Webster home. His wife, Lois drank red wine every evening.

The finance committee recommended that the Catherine Webster home be sold. When it came time to sell the home the YWCA guess who they turned to to sell the home? Yes the third person in the Storch family - Lois who was with Sleepy Hollow Realtors.

So through the actions of Storch's daughter as a board member of the YWCA, and thru Storch's own actions on the committee, they personally profited from the YWCA.

Earlier, when there was a lot of pressure on the YWCA to fix up the house, Storch stayed out completely even though it was in the 2nd ward. Storch did not want to hurt his wife's chances at gettting and keeping the listing. They saw no conflict of interest in any of this.

    This is just one example.

  2. To 6:22 p.m.: Good try, but your comment is not relevant to Late Summer in the Shakespeare Garden. Why don't you write up your remarks and pass them out in person ...

  3. Stick your head in the sand. Many people do that. Ignore the truth, and run with your emotions. Maybe if you ignore it long enough, it will become the truth?

    Not likely.

  4. 6:22 p.m., 9:55 a.m.: Your allegations may be true, but what do they have to do with the Shakespeare Garden? Why don't you write a letter to the editor at the Courier News?
