More City Hall Images

Is there such a thing as blogger's block? If so, I may have it. There are two draft posts that I keep going over  without being able to finish either one. Meanwhile, here are more photos from City Hall.
These Trout Lilies are among plants called the "Spring ephemerals" - the flowers made quite a show and are now gone.
The lamps in the City Hall plaza are being refurbished. After being dark for decades, they now light up and even boast long-lasting, modern bulbs. They will be painted and new glass panels will be installed.
Public Works Director Eric Jackson and Superintendent John Louise show the old and new panels.
The 1917 original glass is on the right and the new one is on the left. A pretty close match, don't you think?
New benches are being painted.
Public Works staff installed a sprinkler system to water the roses and coreopsis and the Yews.
"Winter King" Hawthorn trees were also planted around the plaza.

If you park in the back when you visit City Hall, take a look out the front door to see all the renovations.

  1. The plaza looks beautiful and we should all take great pride of it and be grateful that the Department of Public Works, the city administration and the various volunteer commissions were able to compromise. Their compromise is the big step forward here. Hopefully pride and the ability to compromise will spill to many other areas in the city.

  2. Does the administration have any ideas about economic development?

  3. John Louise gets the support he needs from Eric Jackson. John also has the pride of ownership of his responsibilities and it shows in his work. This entry plaza project is a prime example. Kudos to John for the quality of his leadership and his work.
