  2. exactly as it's written.. Jerry did what Jerry does best.. protect his self interests..
I've no problem with this as this is exactly what Jerry has always done and he doesn't attempt to sugar coat it or pretend his motives are other than that. While Mapp and the others were hugging, singing koumbaya and preaching the local Dem's were all family.. Jerry let them believe what got them to sleep at night. When push came to shove, Jerry slapped them all down.
Mapp, Storch and many others PREACHED ON HIGH for years there was no other way to go than Jerry's way ( VOTE DEM AND DEM ONLY ) and now they got a 2014 which ended the way Jerry wanted it to end.. with Jerry on top.. thank God no Rep or Independents were allowed into Plainfield politics so as not to disturb this righteous ship of fiscal stewardship and responsibility to the citizens of Plainfield. Mapp got what he supported all these years.

  3. Not much to interpret here. Jerry doesn't like candidates who can think on their own two feet. He likes them to be impressionable and for the most part controllable. People who are willing to sing his praise and dance to his tune; ones who won't delve too deeply and owe him a favor or two. Candidates who represent his interests and not those of their constituents. Candidates like Taylor, Eke, and Toliver. I guess we'll know soon enough who fits the bill in the 2nd Ward.

  4. "...fiscal stewardship and responsibility..." Now there's a thought. There was a brief moment of chatter regarding a fundraising campaign to pay for a forensic audit of the city' s books. Anything ever come of that?

  6. Unfortunately, it’s not much of a match. Jerry Green runs Plainfield just like his Trenton overlords want him to. He controls City Council, he controls the Plainfield Democratic City Committee, and he is Union County Democratic Chairman. It is common knowledge that the only reason he supported Adrian Mapp as Mayor last year was because he made a deal to become the Union County Democratic Chairman if he did. Once he became chair, it has been back to his ‘business as usual’ – install incompetents in elected positions to do his bidding, block any efforts for meaningful reform or fiscal responsibility, and siphoning off millions of taxpayer dollars to politically connected special interests or personal friends. That Plainfield is known for corruption and incompetence or that Plainfield taxpayers get screwed in the process are not his concern.

In the Spring Jerry will announce his candidate for the 2nd Ward Council seat who, if history is any indicator, will be elected November. It also a virtual certainty that Jerry will throw Adrian off the Democratic line in the 2017 Democratic Primary in favor of an incompetent candidate for Mayor. Jerry and SRB are friends again. Anything is possible.

    1. Hey who are these so called overlord?

    2. They are the people in Trenton who allow him to stay in power. If I had to name names, my guess would be Charlotte, Lesniak, Crynan, and any of the other big guys in Union County. Jerry is there to do their bidding, not ours. Don't believe me, look at what has been dumped in Plainfield. I have heard that it is good to have people from your town in government. I wonder what Carter and Green have done for this city. Anyone venture a guess?

    3. Green says he is the boss.

  7. Perhaps we need to vote Jerry Green out next year. Maybe voters in Plainfield should think on their own, but Jerry and those in power in Trenton count on people not voting the thoughless masses just letting things ride. Well, Jerry can't live forever. I hope he likes it hot.
