Jerry Green, the veritable Ticketmaster of wolf tickets, is at it again, trying to hassle me as he has for about 20 years now. In reading his ruminations today, I am very sorry that in his world view nothing takes place without manipulation. In the world beyond petty politics, people do think for themselves and state their own opinions.
Jerry's "thoughts" are often far-fetched and nonsensical. If I had to pick the choicest example, it might be this pre-election gem from last October:
"Corzine hit a home run last night. Daggett did a very good job as well. The comments that I have received in regards to Chris “I Made A Mistake” Christie, however, were that he was a total embarrassment to the Republican Party. He had no answers and no plan, in fact it seemed like he was mad at the world. Now I see why Bo and Marty are running away from him, unfortunately, it is a little too late. It is obvious, from his remarks last night, that Bernice Paglia must have written his speech."
Just add the spooky theremin music to complete this otherworldly thought.

Jerry's posts are entertaining but in a depressing, sickening way, like watching a WWE fake wrestling match. Furiously attacking anyone who crosses his path is the way this non-college educated "business consultant" holds together his self-worth and influence. In his world it's the way a "man" handles it: he stands up and attacks full force, no quarter asked or given. If he tried a more thoughtful approach, like debating a case on its merits using logic and facts, he'd be slaughtered. But that would be the way a woman like Bernice, or Dan, or Storch, would handle it, not Jerry.
ReplyDeleteSo his district, and all of New Jersey, suffers through Jerry's minstrel blog: wild threats, big boasts, few facts, all gossip, no ideas. It's sickening and disheartening to be represented this way. We deserve better.
I am beginning to feel sorry for Jerry. Despite his outward appearance of ok health, he is obviously experiencing the effects of dementia. Or, maybe some other health problem? I can recall his wild shaking during last year’s debates, does he have some form of palsy, or did he have a stroke? Maybe it is time for Jerry to retire, he is either not in good health for his age or he is senile? Either way, he is horrible for New Jersey and Plainfield if they ever hope to move forward.
ReplyDeleteJerry is an embarassment to this city, we all know this. He is getting way to much attention lately from the blogs. Let's focus on elections, and identify his candidates, so we can work together to defeat them. It's clear that when Jerry is out of office, Plainfield will once again have potential to become a great place to live.
ReplyDeleteThe latest post on Jerry's blog - replete with incoherent ramblings, vitriol, and a healthy dose of paranoia - should be a cause for concern for his entire constituency. How can this man hold an Assembly seat, much less chair an influential committee? As an elected official, how can he exhibit so little discretion, and how can his colleagues tolerate it?
ReplyDeleteJerry is fond of repeatedly spouting the poll margins that have kept him in office. He fails to acknowledge that virtually anyone on the Democratic party ballot line in a general election will win at the polls in Plainfield. I find fault with the State party leaders who continue to support this bilious, self-serving loose-cannon of an individual.
I feel sorry for the city. Anon 10:57 your comment is disgusting. At least Jerry puts his name on his comments. Maybe he could use a better tone if he wasn't dealing with people like you.
ReplyDeleteWhere can I find his blog????
ReplyDeleteThe behavior of Adrian, Rebecca, Cory and the New Democrats is an embarassment to this city. We should all come together and solve our problems rather than blaming them on others. Plainfield will never reach its potential until we stop playing the blame game and get to work...together.
ReplyDeleteAnon 10:37--"non-college educated" indeed! I guess you think you have to have a college degree to achieve anything. You're a snob! I know lots of college-educated people who are just plain dumb.
ReplyDeleteHere is the address of Jerry's blog:

Take a look for yourself.
There are lots of college educated people who are dumb but there are just about zero people who haven't gone to college who can successfully write 100 page statues that affect the lives of 9 million people and I don't think Jerry's an exception.
ReplyDeleteWould you support Barak Obama as president if he hadn't gone to college? Do you think he could get the job done?
Legislative staff members, not legislators themselves, are the ones who actually write the statutes (not statues). And don't forget that great college graduate, G. W. Bush, with degrees from Harvard and Yale. Having a college degree (or two or three) doesn't guarantee smarts.
ReplyDeletepostscript: even some college professors are pretty dumb!
ReplyDeleteI think it's vile to accuse Jerry Green or anyone else of having "dementia" or being "senile" because his hands shake sometimes. I have friends whose hands and arms shake because they have Parkinson's; others are simply tremors.
ReplyDeleteLets think about this for a second... Despite not having a College Degree, Gerald B. Green has become a successful business man, a consulant and is one of the most powerful Legislators in the State of NJ. Life Forest Gump he may not have been brilliant, but he used what worked for him. What do all you HATERS have to show for your life?
ReplyDeleteBernice is soooo smart yet she has no job, no car lives iives in the projects and writes stories about cats!
You all need to get a life!
Regardless of Jerry's health, it is long overdue that he retire from the Assembly. What has he actually accomplished in the City, aside from providing fodder for the blogs?? He is way past his prime and needs to go out with dignity, not the disgrace he is in.
