Why was this corner flooded? Because stupid people think stuffing trash down the storm sewer grate is being neat and tidy!
Splash! Passing cars give pedestrians a shower!
I was better prepared for the heavy rain this evening, with waterproof boots. This afternoon my espadrilles just got totally soaked in Westfield. But Mindowaskin Lake was very picturesque, much more so than flooded corners on Park Avenue.

I ended up cleaning out 2 storm drains in the pouring rain at the end of my street just to get the water out of my driveway, was backed up all the way from corner. Mostly filled with grass clippings, debris, and trash. And we rarely see a street sweeper in our area, which would help keep them clear
ReplyDeletePerhaps if John Louise would be more attentive to these problems, and inspections would implement ordinances, this would not be such an issue.
ReplyDeleteWhat does John Louise's group do if there is no snow? They certainly do not keep streets clean and they certainly do not trim trees, and they certainly do not patrol streets to make sure the trees they plant are still alive. What do they do?
One thing they do is take good care of Library Park. The grass is mowed frequently and looks healthy and green.
ReplyDeleteFamily members clock people in when others take long lunches or don't come back from lunch. No one watches or cares. It's all very cosy.
