While officials continue to determine the next step in clearing up debris at the North Avenue demolition site, someone has invoked the principle in Arlo Guthrie's "Alice's Restaurant" story, namely that one pile of stuff invites dumping more. The mattress now visible on top of the rubble is likely to be just the harbinger of more junk dumped on the site.
The destroyed restaurant that was collateral damage of the demolition now sports a sign announcing its reopening at 175 North Avenue.
Here's the new location, right across from the train station in a building refurbished by developer Frank Cretella. Another restaurant will be next door.

All's well that ends well?
ReplyDeleteI am glad that she has landed on her feet. Her food is terrific; my favorite south American restaurant in Plainfield. I guess a lot of people feel the same way since she has been open for a long time. Same block better building....Everyone should patronize it when the place reopens so she can try and recoup some of her losses from the demo mishap.
ReplyDeleteShe should recoup her losses from Yates insurance. Where is all that? The investigation, the insurance claim, the removal of the debris?
DeleteDoes she have insurance?
ReplyDeleteI'm excited about her re-opening the restaurant in a great location. The food and ambience is superb. Her business has served Plainfield many years and in the spirit of giving let's patronize it. This is good news for Plainfield that's worth sharing. :)
