New Signs Mean Business

This handsome sign was spotted near the main train station, in the city's original commercial district. More will be placed throughout the Special Improvement District to alert residents and visitors to businesses.

The Special Improvement District includes both the downtown and South Avenue commercial areas. A quarterly SID newspaper, Positively Plainfield, is mailed to all households and includes a listing of businesses by category. I find the Park & Seventh business district especially convenient and I am looking forward to the new signage there.

  1. There has always been a saying, now even more appropriate "Welcome to Plainfield, Lock your Doors"

  3. To 8:17am - How is your comment relevant to the column? And I bet if you lived in Westfield, you would have something to grouse about there. Your comment is not helpful to making Plainfield better, but it is representative of the many people in this town who would rather be negative than to try to make this town better. I don't want to hear how you have tried, how long you have lived here and the stories upon stories of negative happenings in Plainfield that only hold Plainfield back by staying rooted in the negative history. Trying does not solve the problems. Resolutions do.

The signs look great, and are a welcome addition to the city.

Now take all that negative energy and turn it around to do some good for Plainfield.
