Superintendent Search Archive - Any Lessons?

I am having a hard time reorienting myself to the daily grind after a lovely vacation. Meanwhile, the news of a settlement with Superintendent Steve Gallon III made me recall the early days of hope for the district with a new person at the helm. I'm guessing that soon the community will be seeing another search process. Take a spin through this archive from Plainfield Plaintalker and see what you think in retrospect.

  2. One of the many problems with the BOE is that they are not smart. I don't mean as people, but as an organization. I never hear of the group going outside of Plainfield and trying to see what other communities are doing to upgrade their school system. Jersey City has a novel approach, and is making strides in education. Have they looked into to? What about Colin Powell's Education Nation? Have they researched that? It is almost as though they are afraid (or aren't smart enough) to look beyond Plainfield's borders to get help and implement new techniques. It appears that their sole responsibility is to hire and fire superintendents.
