A Plea to the Signal Bureau

A favorite spot for banners announcing city events is Park Avenue and Sixth Street. Plaintalker happened to look up at that location recently and noticed that a large Sycamore or Plane tree is girdled by old wires or ropes from past banners. Maybe the next time the bucket truck is on site, these old ties can be removed. Just speakin' for the trees.

  1. Kudos for noticing that Bernice, the trees and our guys on the city signal bureau and highway dept need more involvement and help from all of us. Saturdays have turned into my walk around the neighborhood with my clippers day where I trim up watersprouts on city property trees, low hanging branches impeding pedestrian traffic on sidewalks, big weeds screaming out from uncared lots etc...it's a great way to "meet" or at least because less-unacquainted people in the library park area...I have a dead tree again on West 8th near where I live. They replanted it 2x since they redid West 8th. It's probably in a spot where someone dumped oil or there may be a slight gas leak in that spot. I would cut it down if I could ( or if I felt it was ok ). I think sometimes people just don't think the next step when it comes to issues like you show in your pics. That's why it's great people like you notice !!! ( I love it when you and Maria bring up trees and plants ! )
