At Thursday's Planning Board meeting, an apparently new flag caught my eye.
It had the blue-and-gold city seal on a field of bright red.
The usual flags one sees in City Hall are those of the United States and the State of New Jersey.
Two questions came to mind: Where did this flag come from and why isn't it blue, in keeping with the city's colors?
A red flag is traditionally a warning or sign of danger. Red is also the mayor's favorite color. Whatever the meaning, shouldn't a new flag design for the city have the approval of the governing body? Why don't we run it up the flagpole and see who salutes?

Who paid for that? If it was paid for out of tax dollars, she's got some serious explaining to do. If it's something she's cooked up for her reelection campaign, it should not be on city property. She must have some new stupid scheme up her tacky sleeve. Maybe she wants to use it like a subliminal message. City seal=red=Sharon! The voters who supported her in the past will see through her this time, I hope.
ReplyDeleteoh dear... another controversy to play out ... somewhat get the broom and be ready to pick up the edge of the rug again...
ReplyDeleteOf course it does not need approval. Remember, we have the f****** mayor in charge of Plainfield.
ReplyDeleteWho uses red, the bloods or crips? Maybe its a new gang tag??
ReplyDeleteHow about the fact that she is a member of a sorority – Delta Sigma Theta and their colors are red and cream.
DeleteShady Sharonda strikes again! I guess she hasn't learned from past mistakes and she has lost many of her supporters who are tired of her shady dealings. If she gets on the party line this time, then we need to change the Democratic Party in Plainfield.
ReplyDeleteBetter yet, why don't we run the Mayor up the flagpole?
ReplyDeleteThere's definitely cause for discussion if the lady in red took it upon herself to change the city's flag -- another mistake like so many others she's made.
ReplyDeleteMore interestingly, I think her sub-conscious (not her conscience) has taken over her, like an exorcism or sorts, and has prompted her to declare "Code Red" through her new flag.
Below are online excerpts defining CODE RED:
A message announced over a public address system warning the staff of
(1) A fire occurring in the facility, indicating that emergency measures should be taken
(2) conditions that are potentially hazardous to health
(4) An external disaster and incoming casualties
I think any one of the above interpretations can be defined of our lady in red, her cronies and her tenure as a the "leader" of our fair city!
To 8:57,
ReplyDeleteThe mayor is not a Delta! She tries to play it that way, but she is not a member of my sorority. There is also a question about whether she even graduated from college. She refuses to say when she graduated.
