Superintendent Candidates' Forum Coming Up

Plainfield residents are invited to attend a forum at which they may "interact" with finalists for the position of school superintendent.

The forum is from 1 to 3 p.m. on May 19 at Emerson School. Each finalist will have 45 minutes to give background and then answer questions from residents.

A flier for the event does not indicate the number or names of the finalists. In answer to Plaintalker's question regarding the names and number of finalists, Board of Education President Renata Hernandez said that information will be revealed at the forum.

The forum will be facilitated by board member Keisha Edwards and Gwen H. Thornton of the New Jersey School Boards Association, which the board engaged to conduct the search.

The search for a permanent superintendent to replace Steve Gallon III began sometime last fall, without much notice until Dan Damon spotted an advertisement in the Star-Ledger. Anna Belin-Pyles has been acting superintendent since the departure of Gallon under a cloud of controversy in mid-2010.

  1. Why are the Board of Education member's wasting the community time. They already have Anna Belin Pyles contract ready for her to sign. I really hope the community wake up for the upcoming School Board Election. The Strike out Team told the untruth to us all. They have never been transparent. I wish they would really stop thinking that everyone in Plainfield have the blinders on.

  2. It's about CONTROL. The chicken and fish frying Campbells control Anna Belin-Pyles. Her car is parked at Superintendant John Campbells office all of the time. PLEASE Plainfield don't waste your time going to this. As Anon 1:59 said it best the contract is already signed. But the children of Plainfield will continue to suffer

  3. Please Keisha Edwards have already given Belin-Pyles the questions so she can be well versed. This is very funny
