Seventh is still blocked off at Watchung.
This pole by Swain's has yet to be fixed.
The storm left this "cobra" lamp dangling.
Still no traffic light, just a stop sign.
And here's what the National Weather Service predicts for Plainfield tomorrow.
Stopped back at the apartment, couldn't find the cat anywhere. Investigated a lump in the comforter and found him hiding in the folds, obviously terrified. Trucks are dumping off logs in the lot next door and then a front loader is tossing them in a huge container, making lots of super-loud thumps that shake the building.
Hoping this evening will bring election results, but like power restoration, it may take a while this year to know the outcome.
Best wishes to all humans and pets for heat and light soon, if you are still waiting.

Hi Bernice..I've missed your blog.. I'm in a motel tonight as I was essentially forced out of my home on West 8th - TODAY...not during, not immediately after.
ReplyDeleteYou want pictures ??? Go to the live wires laying on the ground on West 8th between Arlington and Madison. See the live wires hanging 5ft off the ground at the corner of Madison and West 8th..
There is a whole incredibly awful story regarding this.. LIVE WIRES WITHIN a STEP of the sidewalk and PSE&G, The Plainfield Police Department and Fire Department WERE NOT THE LEAST BIT CONCERNED. Mine and my neighbors plight aside... NONE OF THE 3 ENTITIES GAVE A DAMN about the people of Plainfield touching those LIVE ELECTRICAL WIRES SINCE LAST THURSDAY.
If you feel like it, hopefully they are still laying there tomorrow if you can get to see them...
Glad you made it through the storm ok..I've missed you and Doc..
Rob
