Food, water, ice ... from your friends at PSE&G. On the vacant lot next to City Hall.
The word spread quickly.
Replenishing the supplies of water.
"The self-heating meal."
The view from the YMCA steps.
Free charging outlets are in the tent.
PSE&G workers staffed the water handout line. A huge trailer is the backdrop.
This PSE&G truck is loaded with self-heating meals.
One person's haul. The operation was expected to continue through early evening Monday at least.
Thanks to PSE&G and all the workers. I saw one employee taking time to listen to an older woman who most likely needed a sympathetic ear even more than water, food or ice.

Gee, would have been nice if they bothered telling us on the east side about this!
ReplyDeletePlease know that people on the west end didnt know about this either. It would have been nice if the lazy ass mayor had taken the initiative to make sure the word got out to all of us, but what else could we expect from someone who has the leadership skills of a slug. People were out here without power for 10 days and some are still waiting, but not once have we had any official communication from those who are suppose to be in charge. What about people who had no gas to drive there or who were physically unable to get there due to age, illness or handicap? If I thought the mayor was a gossip-monger, vindictive and bias person before, she has only reenforced my beliefs and probably opened the eyes of many others who supported her in the past. Let's hope this is a wake up call to all us who vote, to get rid of this person once and for all. Whoever replaces her cannot certainly do a worse job than she has already done and we certainly can't be any worse off than we already are. At least let's hope there is no one out there worse than her.
