Save Dates for Forums

While you are marking your calendar for the panel discussion at Masjidullah on Oct. 13 (see item below), note these others:

At 5 p.m. on  Sunday, Oct. 27, the Plainfield Area NAACP will hold a Candidates' Forum at the Plainfield Elks Mohawk Lodge, 
1357 W. 3rd St.

 The Plainfield League of Women Voters will hold a Candidates' Forum starting at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at Emerson School. The forum will include school board, Mayoral and 4th Ward candidates.

    Does this mean Jerry Green will not be participating in a debate? This is something I so look forward to and I'm sure the entire city would be interest in viewing. Do you think Mr. Green is intimidated by John Campbell’s Intelligence and education?

      These events include city candidates, not state candidates.

    4 years ago the PLWV hosted a candidates forum that included candidates running for the assembly, as I recall the republican Bo Vastine came within 1,000 votes (close for a newcomer from Texas) Why not this election?

      I believe the Assembly and freeholder forums are held by various Leagues in Union County. Plainfield doesn't have to do it this year, but with the BOE in addition to mayoral and 4th Ward, it will be a full evening on Oct. 30.
