Extreme Makeover

This is how a house on East Sixth Street looked in early November.
Here's how it looks now.
Not sure how this was accomplished, but there are probably dozens, if not a couple hundred, of houses across the city that could use a similar upgrade.

  1. Bernice: as you know, I am a member of the City's Historic Preservation Commission. We try to save the character of buildings in designated historic districts. But, listen up, friends, without decent public schools,a downtown (wanna buy high-end sneakers? we're here for you) or any industrial properties, we rely on our people and ours houses. plus our tree-lined streets, our Library and our Symphony. Hey, I'm a 68-year-ld white woman. lived here all my life, Please PLEASE comment on what for you makes Plainfield a desirable place to live, to raise your children, to invite your family for Thanksgiving. Go Cardinals in the big match-up with Westfield on Thanksgiving.

  2. And Dunn wants more housing? I guess he didn't get any money from this renovation.

  3. The old wood work is just too expensive to have redone on so many houses and I am just happy to see a CLEAN livable structure for people to have. Again CRIME is the problem in Plainfield and we allow our students to dress like gangbusters.
