Sergio Bichao has two A-1 stories about Plainfield in today's Courier News. If you can get a copy or read them online, do so. I saw them online yesterday and read them again in the digital newspaper. Very interesting, especially the one on the Public Safety leadership controversy.
The City Council will hold its first agenda-fixing session at 7:30 Monday in Municipal Court, 325 Watchung Ave., and the regular meeting will follow on Tuesday, Jan. 22 in the same location.

In general I think it's a bad idea to have a union guy (yes, guy) as an executive directing workers who belong to a strong union. The union is more than capable of taking care of its own, they don't need any help at the top. Every organization needs new ideas to grow and improve and there needs to be a certain distance between management and workers to maintain discipline. Morale comes with fairness and results, not clubbiness.
ReplyDeleteThat story in MyCentralJersey is titled:
Plainfield mayor takes on unions, political leaders for control of city
If the person they (probably meaning Jerry) wants for Police chief is so great, why didn't the former mayor appoint him as acting Chief during December?
