  1. This is a city that is out of control. I don't care what the rationale is. It's the Council, the Mapp administration, and the school board. All rolled into one, the whole system has become a joke. One suing the other, tit for tat, integrity by the wayside. Do it in April. No, do it in November. Thank god for the Mapp App. What would we do if it didn't rhyme?

  3. Three meetings scheduled for one evening. Does this mean items approved in the agenda fixing session can be voted on in the regular session that immediately follows? If an item is placed on the agenda for the regular session, how can it be carefully considered if the vote comes up an hour later? That seems a sure way to circumvent the time it takes for due deliberation by both council members and their constituents. This back to back scheduling, also, seems a way to discourage public comment and privilege of the floor. Resorting to this practice month after month makes such meetings less "special" and more a regular way to diminish the power of the council and the public. Is that a fair description?

    1. Exactly! And when you add in the walk-on items without any advance notice, like hiring lawyers when the mayor sues the Council, or the school board changes the date for its election, it's almost as if they don't want anyone to know what's going on, or haven't the spine to stand up and say "this is what I am".

  4. I think it's a great way to end the year. Plainfield get with the program. Anon 9:18am did you come to the last council meeting. Probably not it went very smooth.
