Commission Vacancies Posted!

Here is a comment I received Friday from the city web site folks in response to my post on the Civic Responsibility Act:

"It is certainly nice to know that when you take care of requests they are indeed acknowledged as a thank you. Your information was posted on Thursday, alongside the Tree Award for the City of Plainfield. The question of posting it with the community events, is it a flyer? is it a City of Plainfield posting? Does it belong on City Letterhead?

Please let it be known that it was posted.

Thank you."

At the risk of being a nudge (Yiddish for one who pesters), activation of the Civic Responsibility Act would still require some specific place to post vacancies.

  1. While it should be appreciated that the information was posted on the City website, I'm sure Mr. Payne has far more important things to address then posting information on the City website as much as people complain about the website. Why can't the City website be handled by a volunteer. There are enough Bloggers in town and I'm sure there is someone, and not necessarily a blooger, that would be interested in this type of work for a few hours a week at least.

Perhaps it could become an interned position where credits can be earned. Dan is always complaining about the City website and wondering if he ever approached the City to help out since he did take a course on the City's dime on websites.

  2. Great idea, 5:57! Let Dan decide what gets posted to the city's website; that'll quicken a few heartbeats at city hall!
