Logs and Bottles

Plaintalker spotted this rustic party scene while crossing East Sixth Street on the way to City Hall Sunday. The same array of bottles and logs could be seen earlier in the week and, most likely, just about any day a person happens to be at East Sixth and Cleveland. The revelers obviously know how to bend an elbow, but not how to bend over and pick up their post-party debris. Just another quality of life issue in the neighborhood.

  1. I can not tell you how many times I see litter thrown out of cars or discarded by person walking on our sidewalks. If I was to say something or ask a Police Officer to give a ticket I would be accused of being a busy buddy. No wonder I think of moving out to the suburbs - or even Idaho sometimes.

  2. When I'm driving down Watchung Avenue at 11 p.m. coming home from work there are people drinking and partying in that area and other places near City Hall. Perhaps the police should walk around the area between 10 and midnight to stop the public drinking.

  3. I pay over 12K in taxes. I have no education system, no downtown, no economic development - which says to me people aren't doing much - and i cannot even have a clean Plainfield. What is going on? This mayor better stop having an attitude that she is better than the rest of us, and take the help the citizens are willing to give.

  4. I think PMUA should put recycling containers at the spot for the bottles, cans and papers and it would be nice if Public Works put up some sort of canopy so that the residents using this facility are protected from the weather somewhat . . . the poorest citizen is entitled to no more or no less than the most prestigious!
