On Sunday, churchgoers who normally use the lot found the driveway impossible to negotiate. The car in the foreground had a big piece of plywood at the rear, presumably to warn others who might get stuck. The truck blocked the entry off Park Avenue as an added measure.
Thanks to the bulldozer, pedestrians now can use the sidewalk and drivers can use the Park Avenue driveway. As the mayor might say, "Yay!!!"

The city is not interested in doing their fair share. For the past week, crews could have been getting the snow plowed on streets so that more than one car could get by. Instead they are twiddling their thumbs. The problem here is with the Mayor. She doesn't have a clear understanding on how to effectively manage a city. Now they ask that residents help. Most of us have been doing our part.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, the city could have been giving fines to property owners who haven't cleaned their walks. I'm not talking about today's snowfall, I'm talking about the cleanup of snow that fell 2-3 WEEKS ago. Also, cars parked in No Parking zones should have been ticketed and towed at the owner's expense. Come on Plainfield administration, it's time to wake up and do the right thing!
Here hear! SO true. Ride along the city streets and look at how impassable many are due to abandoned cars still not cleaned out from the earlier storms. Tow them now and get the streets clear!
