So ... Linden is now a transit village after a four-year effort. Whatever became of Plainfield and the four "transit villages" proposed in 2006?
Plaintalker's post a year ago on the topic tells all there is to know. Click here for more information, with relevant links included.

Tip head downward, slowly shake from side to side and quietly say "Jenny, Jenny .. Jenny"
ReplyDeleteCitizens can no longer expect results from the people who are paid to do their jobs. Economic development is a political tool, and I believe that citizens must get involved and expose the games that go behind developers meeting with the administration and JG.
ReplyDeleteThis is the year to start paying attention, Plainfield. Everyone should decide on one positive thing to do for this city this year, and do it.
As long as the City of Plainfield is seen as the ghetto that it is, you will not attract anyone other than Habitat for Humanity, Rose of Sharon, AKA the Church of the Holy Developer and Shiloh, who unfortunately is building next to Oveters junk yard of a storage lot and cant sell the over priced homes for the area, no matter how many open houses they have. Who would spend that kind of money to live next to that mess. Lets keep killing someone every other day and have a school where you have to waste money paying off people who should have never been hired in the first place instead of putting towards a quality education for the kids. Yeah I want to move here for all that. And thats just the tip of the ranting... Times have changed, the money has dried up. So other than Landmarks plans, dont hold your breath for the golden goose any time soon.
