Jackson Meets Planners

DPW&UD Director Eric Jackson

Eric Jackson, the new director of the Department of Public Works & Urban Development, was effusive in his praise of the city and his staff as he met with the Planning Board Thursday.

Jackson began work here on Sept. 26 and said Thursday he has "a lot of administrative background and energy to give" to the city. He called Planning Director Bill Nierstedt "a great liaison" and said his staff is excellent.

"I am accessible to you," he told the board members. "For all that we do, we will work together."

Besides the Planning Division, Jackson's department includes Recreation, Inspections, the City Yard and Economic Development. See his city web site page here.

On the job for nine weeks now, he declared Plainfield "a vibrant city."
