No news came out of Wednesday's special PMUA meeting. The matter of compensation to former executives Eric Watson and David Ervin is still the pile of "(alleged) poop" that Dan offered up last week.
Some people at the meeting had folders of documentation of events leading up to the present situation and some had very strong views based on close observance of the authority's past action or inaction. But none of it was enough to make the outcome happen any quicker than the legalities of the arbitration process will allow. Meanwhile, anybody who wants to comment is welcome to do so.

If Ervin and Watson get a dime, it will be a crying shame. Why can't the Commissioners (except for Dunn and Sanders, of course) just do the right thing and keep them from taking another cent from the weary ratepayers and the company they "built"? Is it not clear that if they get what they want - settlement or no - all will suffer? Haven't they gotten away with enough in their 15 years with 6 figure salaries, trips, dinners, etc.? Ms. Montford's support comes from the fact that she wants to drink from the same well. None of them, including Dunn and Sanders, cares one iota about Plainfield or PMUA.
ReplyDeleteI agree with 9:48. The commissioners have no interest in serving the public. The contracts that they continue to dole out do not protect the public. How does one get nearly 55 paid days off (or other greater number as stated in the contracts)? Watson and Ervin announced they were resigning. There is no need to have paid them more than $300k to date. Now the ratepayers will get another whammy with the settlement agreement.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to make a difference, write the governor and let him know what's going on so that when the commissioners "approve" the settlement, he can veto it and FIRE their sorry selves!
