  1. I am going to truly miss Joann Hollis. I thank her for inviting me to be apart of the board and for taking me on those 2 retreats. I spent some nice times with her and she was the heart and soul of this community. I don't know what we are going to do without her. She is going to be missed by me and my family.

  2. I moved in west end gardens in 1969 and I remember the first person. I met was Joanne Hollis she showed me how to catch the bus on plfd ave and at that time she was a member of the school safety patrol. If there ever was a person from my generation who lived their live dedicated to improvement and betterment of the fourth ward. It was my childhood friend Joanne. Rest in peace, and may you be granted paradise. A friend of 45 years. Norman X. Johnson

  3. Joann exemplified service to our community as a councilwoman, housing commissioner, and as a community leader. We will deeply feel the loss of her voice--it's hard to imagine Plainfield without her strong and compassionate presence. May we all be comforted by her legacy of abiding love and service.
