GOP Gets It Right After Faulty Filing

It's official! As predicted here on Aug. 22, Randy Bullock is now the GOP's Third Ward candidate for the Nov. 4 general election and Bill Michelson is running for the Second & Third Ward at-large seat.

The word just came from the County Clerk's office that the proper paperwork has been filed. Last week, the GOP filings to replace primary winners had Michelson running in the Third Ward, where he doesn't even live, and had Bullock running for the same seat from which he withdrew.

As of this writing the change is not yet reflected on the candidates' list for the general election in case you look it up, but I'm sure that will follow.

So now the City Council candidate lineup includes Democrat Diane Toliver running unopposed for a four-year term in the First Ward, incumbent Councilwoman Rebecca Williams running for re-election in the Second & Third Wards at-large on the Democratic line and now opposed by Republican Bill Michelson, and Democratic appointee Gloria Taylor on the line for the unexpired Third Ward term versus Republican Randy Bullock.

The last day to register to vote in the general election is Tuesday, Oct. 14.

    1. You had a choice all along, now you have a different choice. Are you paying attention or just spouting off?

    2. Thank God, we can choose someone besides Jerry's friend Gloria Taylor. She promises to work for something, then tries to derail it. Better a Republican than Taylor.

    1. 3:45pm and 1:31 pm( the same person) It is obvious that you are a Green disciple and will always cast your vote to defeat anyone who opposes his rule. Plainfield's hope is that enough thinking Democrats in the 3rd Ward will vote Republican. We have had enough time to evaluate Taylor.

    2. And most people in the 3rd ward will never vote for Taylor. Remember she only won by a very narrow margin. Rebecca has proven that she is truly for the people of Plainfield and Gloria Taylor has proven she is really for her puppet master.

    3. I hope that means that you will be voting for the Republican candidate against Jerry Green next year also.

    4. She still won. Someone needs to organize that ward. Otherwise, your needs for the next two years will be what Jerry Green wants. Remember, Gloria herself said that she was loyal to Jerry Green (NOT the 3rd Ward) and he was loyal to her (NOT the 21 district)

  3. it will be interesting to see who made what deal with the Devil and even more interesting to see the shock and awe from them when he snaps the chain around their neck... fiddle of gold against your soul ..

  4. Hi Bernice,

Rebecca Williams is the only person on City Council who can reliably be counted on to work for the best interest of the citizens of Plainfield and not Jerry Green’s best interest. Remember back this spring when Green’s stooges (Ms. Brown, Ms. Greaves, Mr. Reid, Ms. Rivers, and Ms. Taylor) refused to take up a measure to transfer the PILOT program for Liberty Village for months. Only after Rebecca Williams alerted Liberty Village residents they were in danger of losing their HUD rent funding and they came out to a Council Meeting to protest, did Green’s stooges finally approve the transfer two days before HUD funding would have expired. Now Jerry’s kids, even after being advised by two attorneys that the resolution to convey two city parking lots to the HAP is not in compliance with the law, have passed the resolution and are considering over-riding Mayor Mapp’s veto.

Jerry Green runs Plainfield. With rare exceptions, Rebecca Williams being one, Jerry has hand-picked Plainfield City Council members and Mayors for over 20 years. He expects ‘his” people to follow “his’ wishes and do ‘his’ business which is to divert the Plainfield’s resources to Jerry’s cronies and special interests. When “his” people don’t do what he wants, then he gets rid of them by throwing them off the Democratic Party Line in their next Primary, just like he did to Rebecca this past June. A vote against Rebecca Williams in November is a vote for Jerry Green and mess he has made of Plainfield. Remember, Jerry Green runs Plainfield so he can’t claim he’s not responsible for the condition it is in.

  5. To anon, Thanks God we have Rebecca to vote for. She and Corey are the only 2 with half a brain to vote for what is right and legal in this town. Gloria is a lackey who is riding the coat tails of her husband. Its time to enjoy retirement dear. Go sit down!
