Plainfield Cop Arrested

Dear Friday tipster, I have no way of confirming information from the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office, but according to this Courier News story online just now, you are correct.

  1. Very sad. Several officers have been arrested over the years, if I recall correctly one committed suicide in the Police Division it self while being questioned for criminal behaviour. People have sin natures no matter what their walk in life is, and I see it as only by the Grace of God we are able to struggle along. May this young man look for that strength now even after this great mistake.

  2. I wish I lived in Metuchen. This officer, along with most of Plainfields Finest do not live here. We pay their salaries and pensions, they live in better neighborhoods. This also applies to the fire department, and most political appointees.

    Our tax dollars at work.

    1. I believe under state law police are not required to live where they are employed. Plainfield has tried various inducements to hire city residents and to keep them here, such as the "Cop on the Block" program.

    2. Actually you didn't pay for the fire and police pensions for 15 years. They only paid themselves. The politicians stole the money. Now Christie wants them to pay for everything as he is not paying his share
