PMUA Meeting Rescheduled

If you were planning to attend a PMUA meeting tonight, forget about it. The meeting has been rescheduled to April 29. Meanwhile, here's a look at Dan Williamson's contract in contrast with that of his predecessor. The search is on for an executive director as Williamson's contract nears expiration. Will the next contract be even less generous?

  1. This opens the door to list the accomplishments that those annoying "bloggers" and active critics have accomplished.
    1. Up to 2008 the entire retinue of Commissioners and senior officials trotted of to far away places ostensibly for educational purposes. The high water mark, from memory was 2007 during which year they went to Oakland California, Chicago, Atlanta, Atlantic City and another City which I can not remember. How the education received benefited the people of Plainfield remains a mystery. This no longer occurs.
    2. Business lunches for executives was a twice a month tradition. The Spanish Tavern and Jade Isle produced receipts on which was recorded "Business Lunch". No other detail. Now a hard working Executive is entitle to a few perks, but when the business man's special is $7.00 and the bills are for $80 to $180 it makes one wonder how much dim sum a man can eat. This has stopped.
    3. You may remember that if you left your trash can open 3 inches you got a $50 summons. That has stopped.
    4. You may remember the water charge if you filled your pool. Now there is program to exempt pool water volume from your sewer bill.
    5. The website was flawed in many ways. It is now nicely maintained.
    6. As cited in the above article Executive perks have been substantially reduced. Amongst other thing the cumulative bonus which paid the departing executive 1 months pay for each year of service is omitted.
    7. OPRA requests are now handled promptly.
    8. For a period the 3 minute public time was reduced to two minutes. Three minutes has been restored ( 4 minutes anyone? ).
    9. The illegal benefit package that was paid to the Commissioners was phased out. First, no new Commissioners received it, and two months ago it was cancelled for those remaining Commissioners that continued to receive it.
    10. The number of employees that around 2008 burgeoned to about 180 is now around 135.
The aggregate savings as a result of the above reforms to the people of Plainfield totals millions of dollars. Oh, those evil people. No more dim sum.
