Yates and Abbott Manor

Andre Yates, now at the center of the demolition controversy, received approval in 2012 to replace the roof on Abbott Manor. Plaintalker's post on the Historic Preservation Commission's decision generated a large number of page views and 43 comments in September 2012. Perhaps they are of interest while the city attempts to work out the demolition issues. I'm told the roof repair is not complete. 1. The Abbott Manor is of great concern to the Van Wyck Brooks historic district. According to grant paperwork filed his plan was to make a home for mentally ill veterans all along.

What is interesting about the fact that he got the contract for the demolition is that the vice president of Yates Real Estate, Henry Robinson, is also the VP of PMUA. Eric Watson is the former Exec. Director of PMUA and now the acting director of Public Works. Public Works accepted Yates proposal and did not advertise like they were supposed to.

I think there should be an investigation into this issue as suggested, but with a different focus. Everybody wants to point the finger at Mapp. Do you suppose that is so they can get the attention off of Watson, Robinson and Yates???

    Sounds like it to me.

    1. I agree. Something is definitely fishy with these relationships. Maybe it was Watson that put Robinson at the PMUA so that he can become the $2 million man and that why Yates was given the contract. How can we have the State investigate this?

  2. Uh oh! The million dollar man just can't get enough dough in his pocket!

Of course all of his PMUA friends are probably good with this though, I certainly hope Mapp is not.

Time to go bye-bye Mr. Watson.
