Be Nice!!
To 5:59 a.m. : What did I just say about use of pejoratives? Don't make me come over there and pinch you for calling someone an "idiot" - no comment publication for you!!
Yeah, I'd go for only anonymous comments, cuz we hear too much from the regulars and they take up our time and all that cyberspace as well. Anonymous comments have 'testicular fortitude'. They get to the heart of the matter and comprehensively discuss viewpoints in ways that signed comments never do. Anonymous comments are lively and biting. We know that when we are moved to anonymity the subject must be so important we wouldn't want to detract from its weightiness by taking personal credit for the post. I'd even offer that a cloak of anonymity, along with a voice synthesizer, be provided at City Council meetings. Then they'd get a piece of our minds in a way that would force them to take action. Even the City Council could vote anonymously. That way no one would know anything, and what we don't know doesn't exist, or can't hurt us.
At least all your "regulars" have the gits and honesty to put their name om their comments. By the way do I undersrtand that I need space to comment? Perhaps you are not aware that I have been writing a blog for over six years. Or more likely you are one of those who get a perverted high by sending an equally inane anony, ous comment to my blog.
It's all about ME: I enjoy responding to posts, but always sign my name, In fact, someone in Plainfield, told my nephew I have a blog. I am thinking about creating a blog, - CERTAINLY OPINIONATED ENOUGH (not Bernice or Dr. Yood, certainly Dan - but, at the moment,, "commenting" on the bloggers who do the daily work suits me - thank you, Dan, Bernice,Old Doc, David . Rebecca in her various incarnations. I receive (small) pension checks from The Courier and The Ledger, but relay on these local blogs for Plainfield info. I hear the all-Web Alternative Press may soon have Plainfield coverage. The more, the better. And turn out for the FOSH Garage Sale Sunday, 9-4. Look for a balloon.Grab a map and guide to what homeowners have on offer.
I have been reporting on Plainfield for more than 30 years, first at the Plainfield Today weekly, then at the Courier News and after retirement on the Plainfield Plaintalker blog and its successor, Plaintalker II.

I should have said not a wise move given the time
ReplyDeleteWhat about not publishing anonymous postings?
ReplyDeleteI think you should not allow anonymous postings so that the same dozen or so people can have the comment space all to themselves.
ReplyDeleteLets see: Rob, Bob, Randy, Bill, Rebecca, Tom, Olive, OldDoc, Jim, and good ol' Alan. Did I miss any regulars?
if it's too hard anyone of us "regulars" could help you..

Delete"comprehensively discuss" is hysterical

DeleteIf I understood the Czar's point I would anonymously comment on it.
