Plainfield's Jewish population has diminished considerably since the mid-20th century, but we must realize and acknowledge significant times for our Jewish friends and neighbors. As Dr. Yood points out in a comment on his blog, sundown tonight marks "Erev Rosh ha Shanna, the first night of the Jewish New Year 5771. This is one of the two most holy days in the Jewish faith."
