Plainfield Courtyard Gardens

One of the Google ads on Dan's blog today is for "Plainfield Courtyard Gardens," which turns out to be The Monarch condo complex at 400 East Front Street.

The "courtyard" reference caught my eye, as plans for the second-floor roof garden became a bone of contention with the Planning Board last year. Originally proposed with four trees and various plantings, the courtyard turned up in ads rendered as a deck with potted arbor vitae. Through urging from planners, the developer agreed to accept a design by Planning Board staffer April Stefel in July 2009. Click here for Plaintalker's post on the revised plan.

Stefel was laid off earlier this year and the short-staffed Planning Division may not have checked back with the developer to see whether there actually is a roof garden that reflects the agreement. The ad on Dan's blog led to a link picturing the same format that raised concerns - check it out here. However, the link does not reflect the moniker "Plainfield Courtyard Gardens." Curious.
