Candidates vying for one Plainfield City Council seat and three Union County Freeholder seats will meet the public at an Oct. 19 forum sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Plainfield.
The forum is 6:30 p.m. at the Plainfield Public Library, 800 Park Ave., Plainfield. Parking is available in the library’s West Ninth Street lot. See http://www.plainfieldlibrary.info/directions.html for directions.
Incumbent Democrat Cory Storch and Republican William Michelson are running for a four-year term representing the Second Ward on the Plainfield City Council. For the other seat up for election this year, representing the First & Fourth Ward at-large, incumbent Vera Greaves is running uncontested.
Union County freeholder candidates for three three-year terms include Democrats Angel Estrada, Christopher Hudak and Vernell Wright and Republicans Edwin O. Ortiz and Andrew B. Smith. Estrada and Hudak are incumbents.
All candidates in the contested races were invited to submit biographies and answers to three League questions. Only Storch and Smith responded by the League’s deadline. Their responses may be seen at www.lwvplainfield.org along with additional information about the League of Women Voters of Plainfield.
