Another BOE Vacancy Filled

"Meet the Board" screen shot

A Facebook post of Richard Wyatt being sworn in sent me on an early morning quest for information, but my sleuthing failed except to figure out that the missing board member was Keisha Edwards. Board President Wilma Campbell enlightened me this morning when I called for more information. She said Wyatt was sworn in at the Sept. 1 work and study meeting and he is replacing Edwards, who resigned due to a move.

Wyatt will serve the balance of Edwards' term until Dec. 31.

He is also running for a full three-year term, having filed on July 27 to be on the Nov. 3 ballot. Also on the ballot is John Campbell, pictured below his wife. Campbell was appointed after Mahogany Hall resigned.

Jackie Coley, bottom right in the screen shot, is running for re-election. Hall (formerly Hendricks), Edwards and Coley all won election in 2012.

One other school board candidate, Emily Morgan, will appear on the Nov. 3 ballot in the race for three three-year terms. Winners take office on Jan. 1, 2016.

I was out of the state for a week and came back to this?! Wow! Didn't he run with Jerry Green? Why have elections when Wilma Campbell RUNS the school board. or is that RU-I-NS the school board?
