This is the project discussed at a conceptual meeting Thursday. The location is 662-758 South Second Street. The city owns the 4.97-acre site. It is on a brownfields list.

TD+Partners are the developers. They will have to apply to the land use boards for any variances or redevelopment approvals. Stay tuned!

  1. other than a personal wish that the architecture was more dramatic and a throwback to older styles from the early previous century... what a nice proposal !!

  2. Everything in the announcement except the sale price of the land and the proposed PILOT amount. If the project costs $30mil and tax assessments run about 50% of market value, the tax the property should pay and the tax Plainfield homeowners currently pay on that amount of property is about $1.1mll per year. PILOT, subsidy, give-away- it is all the same thing. Only question is how much this time.

  3. Will this be market rate housing or another project? Its a little ugly. They could make it nicer looking. Less institutional for the residents that will live there and the surrounding community..
