School board watchers have until Wednesday to figure out June meeting dates and venues.
Originally scheduled for June 7 (Primary Election day), the Work and Study meeting has been moved to Wednesday, June 8. However, as of this morning, the meeting time on the district website is listed as 7:40 p.m. and the location is the Plainfield High School Conference Room, while a legal notice in the Courier News lists the meeting at 6:35 p.m. in the PHS Cafeteria, with an executive session to follow at 7:40 p.m. in the PHS conference room.
The June 21 meeting is listed on the district website as 8 p.m. in the PHS Auditorium, but the legal notice has it in the PHS Cafeteria. The meeting will be preceded by an Executive Session at 6:30 p.m. in the PHS Conference Room.
This is the second instance of BOE meetings conflicting with elections in 2016. The first was on April 19, when the school board election took place due to a Nov. 10 vote by the board to move it back to April from November. The business meeting had to be rescheduled to April 26.
The June meeting calendar also still lists Wilma Campbell as board president, even though she lost her seat in the April 19 election and Emily Morgan was named 2016-2017 president at the May 3 organization meeting.
