Ladybugs are so cute. So are babies. But a baby ladybug, or nymph, looks like a little monster.
After seeing a lot of ladybug romance on the Milkweed plants, the next thing I saw was a bunch of these creatures resembling tiny alligators dressed for Hallowe'en.
A spin through the interwebs located a complete rundown on the life cycle of the ladybug and I have already seen some pupating on Milkweed leaves. They are turning into adults - cuteness lives!
I hadn't seen The Infinite Spider blog before, but it is my new favorite. I never seem to have time for movies online - maybe because I use up so many hours watching the drama in the back yard.

I've been seeing a ton of these lately and didn't know what they were. Thanks for clearing up that mystery.
ReplyDeleteWow! I have photographed the babies before and didn't realize they were ladybugs! Why ... you're ... EDUCATIONAL! Have a good evening, Bernice!
